Cornute Family Reunion—2001: Walker-Jones-Springfield-Perkins was hosted by Lovana Jones, Cenita Walker-Scott and family.

The family amassed in Chicago, Illinois the weekend of August 3-5, 2001 to partake in the family reunion.

Chi-Town was the backdrop for Cornute Family Reunion – 2001 which got under way Friday night August 3rd with the reception party, hosted by the late Illinois State Representative Lovana Jones, at her home. Everyone had a fantastic time and partied to the wee hours of the morning.

We gathered at Rainbow PUSH National Headquarters Saturday morning August 4th and participated in their weekly Saturday morning activities. We took some family group photos while there. Later in the afternoon everyone had some free time to visit the Chicago Loop and other sites of interest as well as getting in some shopping, especially the famous Garrett Popcorn. The youngsters were treated to some fun outdoor events as well.

The banquet event was held at the well-known McCormick Place of Chicago later that evening where we enjoyed a wonderful dinner. The Reverend Jesse Jackson Sr. addressed the family, Ascension, Cenita’s singing group performed and the very first Family Tree Banner was unveiled.

Sunday August 5th we gathered for a family farewell breakfast where a wonderful time was had by all as we prepared to depart the Windy City.
