Meet Me in Saint Louis

Saint Louis, Missouri

July 19–21, 2013

Cornute Family Reunion—2013: Meet Me in Saint Louis was hosted by Bonita Cornute and family.

The family converged on St. Louis from points all across the country via every mode of transportation. We were welcomed to St. Louis with letters from the city and county’s top officials; namely the County Executive, the Mayor, the Comptroller and the License Collector.

This historical city was the backdrop for Cornute Family Reunion – 2013 which got under way Friday night July 19th with the “Meet & Greet” event held in the Hampton Inn & Suites banquet room. The meet & greet allowed family members to relax a bit from their hectic travels, socialize with some new and old family, find their family lines on the family tree banner all while enjoying some of St. Louis’ special barbeque. The family tree banner remained available for viewing in the hospitality suite for the entire weekend.

Saturday morning July 20th began the sightseeing phase of our gathering as we departed for St. Louis’ Riverfront dawned in our spiffy Cornute “Meet Me in St. Louis” Reunion T-Shirts. This afforded us the opportunity to explore a few of St. Louis’ well-known attractions such as the Arch, the Old Courthouse and general activities on the Mississippi Riverfront.

The banquet event, hosted by Bonita Cornute, was held in a lovely setting at the Highlands Golf Course Clubhouse in Forest Park later that evening.

Sunday July 21st was a very relaxed day headlined by a very open family history discussion with Charles Brown Jr., President of the St. Louis African History & Genealogy Society and an indoor family barbeque picnic.

We were all excited for the great time we had throughout the weekend and truly appreciated the tremendous effort put forth by our host.
